Isla has been one of Kwanzaa’s active allies since its inception. She has been an Event Director for Black History Celebration, leading on the pre and on day relationship with artists. She is also the Production Director for Six Towns Carnival-Reloaded, led by SABLE

Isla Telford is a creative producer and event director with a commitment to using art to promote community empowerment and cohesion. She is Co-Director of Urban Wilderness CIC with responsibility for fundraising, strategic development, community development and artist development, along with event production.
Isla has extensive experience of large-scale events, bid-writing, narrative placemaking, artist development and production. She was the project manager for Live Age festival, an annual celebration of creativity in later life. Isla has also worked as a Creative Producer for Stoke Creates, B-arts and Staffordshire Morland’s OUTSIDE.
Isla is a member of Without Walls Creative Development Network and is Production Director of Six Towns Carnival. She is also on the Advisory Board of Staffordshire, Association of Black Lives Equality (SABLE) and the chair for Longton Town Forum.
As a writer of short stories, flash fiction and short plays, Isla has worked closely with poet and Kwanzaa’s Collective UK’s creative director Gabriella Gay since 2018 to produce literary and scratch night events in Staffordshire. Isla has also worked with Prea Kaur in 2021 to platform writers in online literary magazine Hencroft Hub.
